Geraldines' DiaryTuesday, October 13th: left Cheltenham at 9am on what wa to be the hardest day ofthe trip. I got lost twice and almost ended up in Wales at one point. To avoid a huge detour, I had to talk my way through some roadworks and ended up getting soft tar on my tyres. However, at 8.20pm. I arrived at my flat in Bristol at the end of 55miles. It was tough but I was so relieved to make it. The "Bristol Evening Post" took my photo at the Clifton Suspension Bridge and printed a super article in the paper. Thanks for all the prayers and support. I really enjoyed the trip and am glad that Moray Fresh Start will benefit from all the cash raised. Final total to come.
Geraldine in Bristol at the Clifton Suspension Bridge. Sunday, October 11th: After a wet morning's cycling, the sun came out as I arrived in Cheltenham. I am staying with my parents and Mum had a banner and balloons out to welcome me. I am fine and the bike is holding up well. I had the brakes tightened after all the hills in the Peak District and that has helped. I am having a rest day tomorrow before the final leg of the journey into Bristol.I am delighted with the response to the ride and all the support I have received. Thursday, October 8th: I am in Market Drayton in Shropshire. I reckon that I've travelled about 550 miles. I hopes to reach Bristol next Tuesday or Wednesday. I am well and am still collecting donations. Another £55 went in the post today. Please keep me in your prayers. Tuesday, October 6th: Have moved on to the Peak District National Park, up in the hills and am finding it hard to find a signal. I am well and will be enjoying a few days well-earned rest. Have taken in another £30 from sponsors along the way! Friday, September 26th: I am now in the centre of Glasow. The journey so far has brought me through some fantastic scenery. Lots of hills but all managable. I had to buy a better wayerproof jacket as there have been some heavy showers. Cycling into Glasgow was a bit terrifying but so far, so good. As I get nearer the Border, I am sad that I will be leaving Scotland. Heading for Douglas tomorrow. Tuesday, September 22nd: Made it as far as Pitlochry. Spent last night at Grantown-on-Spey where the folks at the B&B were really interested in what I was doing. Cycled over the Drumochter Pass today where, fortunately, the wind changed direction and blew at my back. Made life much easier. Still in good health and good spirits.
