Moray Youth Runs to Raise Money for MFS

One of MFS' youngest friends ran in honor of the charity on October 7th. Eleven-year-old Rhona Swordtook participated in a sponsored run at West End Primary School in Elgin. She ran 15 times around the school football field after school. She gave 10% of her fundraising to the school and remaining 90% was donated to MFS. Her total efforts have brought in over £120 for MFS. We are honored by her generosity of spirit and are so happy to have her young energy and support on our team. Thank you, Rhona!

Cycle Event (for full story, click here)

A local woman, Geraldine Brooks, is returning to her home town of Bristol after working in Moray for the last two years.  She has decided to “give something back to Moray” by raising money for Moray Fresh Start (MFS). She will begin from Holy Trinity Church in Elgin at 12:45pm on September 20, 2009, in the hope of obtaining sponsors for the three week trek.  Her chosen route, which will keep her off main roads, is 700 miles long and she is hoping that individuals can sponsor her for 1p per mile or £7 for the whole distance.  She is also looking for local business sponsors.“I'm doing this as a thank you to the people of Moray for being so welcoming and supportive. I wanted to support a local Moray charity and am very concerned about homelessness, so MFS just seemed a good, practical charity to support”, said Brooks.
